Saints Celebrate a brilliant first half of the Season

By Saints Water Polo, Dec 6 2017 04:38PM

Saints Water Polo ended the season on a high with a lovely Christmas Dinner at the Golf Museum Cafe.

It was a great chance to celebrate a really successful first half of the season. The men remain undefeated and top of Scottish 1A and the women have performed extremely well in the Premier League and remain in second.

We were given the chance to congratulate those who have performed to a high standard and the commitment of our players. Colours were given to those who have attended at least 75% of training sessions and contributed a significant amount to the club. This year they were awarded to Thomas Kane, Dea Edington, Amelia Fletcher, Ruby Brown and Meg Hedrick.

Our Annual Awards are voted on by the team and were given to the following players:

Most Valuable Player:

Dea Edington and Ruby Versfeld

Best Fresher:

Lucas Richardson and Ruby Versfeld

Most Improved:

Thomas Kane and Rhiannon Macleod

Best Attendance:

Becky Yates

Players’ Choice Award:

Georgie Izen

Huge congratulations to all the award winners!

We had to say two very hard goodbyes to our leaving players. Angus leaves us as current top goal scorer and previous captain. Kelsey, despite only having been here for a semester, has made an unbelievable impact on the club. We are going to miss you both an enormous amount and are so excited so see what you will get up to next!

We also say a huge thank you to our amazing coaches Ian and Alison. You both do a ridiculous amount for the club, which is seen through the successes of the teams. We are so grateful for the amount of time and effort you put in for us and we hope that you have a really lovely Christmas.

Lastly thank you to Meg for organizing a great night!
