Saints kicked back into shape during mid-season training

By Saints Water Polo, Jan 28 2018 10:58AM

Saints arrived back from the Winter Break for a week of training, getting us back into shape after all the Christmas chocolate.

Our first session was 6.15am morning training, although not everyone’s favorite time of the day, it was so great to catch up with everyone again and get back into the pool. The rest of the week included gym sessions, scrimmages, tactics and analysis of last year’s games to get us fully prepared for this half of the season.

The women have one game left in the league, looking to secure at least third place. Their attention then turns to the BUCS championships with knockout matches coming up from the middle of February.

The men have an extremely busy second half of the season, with league and trophy matches. They are hoping to bring home the Scottish 1A title and can even do it undefeated.

After the tough week of training we are looking for the wins in the first matches of the year on Wednesday. The women are at home to Sheffield Hallam and the men away to Strathclyde.
